The CCOV (Colorado Conference of Volunteerism) committee strives to organize an event that is meaningful and educational for our attendees. We know that the volunteer management professionals within our community face unique challenges and so we are always evaluating on how we can improve.
This year, we have compiled a ‘wishlist’ of desired presentation subjects based on feedback from our 2024 post-conference survey. What we found was that many attendees have expressed an interest in leaving CCOV with hard skills in hand – in addition to soft skills. You can reference specific topic requests below:
Attending a workshop focused on design and marketing tools
Learning about change management
Creating a positive volunteer culture
Attending an event planning workshop
Understanding how to develop a community service program
Tips on how to get staff buy in and build a strong staff/volunteer relationship
Management 101- delegation, one on one’s, supporting staff, difficult conversations, holding people accountable
What to know about the impacts of labor laws on a volunteer program
How to create meaningful program policies and/or craft a volunteer handbook
Volunteerism trends statewide and nationwide
Data Storytelling/ How to build impact reports workshop
Workshop on how to create meaningful volunteer positions and develop manuals/descriptions
We would like to stress that we do not believe this list to be all-exhaustive. There are a wide range of topics we know will resonate with our 2025 attendees so prospective presenters should propose presentations they are both passionate about and qualified to speak on.
It is also helpful to note that as with previous years the CCOV committee will be selecting our 2025 conference selections based on proposals we feel are the strongest. We will take the above wishlist into consideration, but there are a variety of factors that will inform our decision making process.
